Fall Stenciled Pillows

I made some Autumn Pillows. They are the Envelope style that I like to do and I stenciled some sayings and numbers {31 for Halloween} on them to go along with the season.  I found some fun Home Decor Fabric at Hobby Lobby and used it to make these pillows.

They were pretty simple  to make.  If you would like to see a tutorial on how I have sewn Envelope pillows, you can see that here.  I suggest looking at this tutorial so you will know how to do the following pillows.  :)

The measurements for each of these Fall pillows are as follows:

For the Large 20x20 Houndstooth pillow:
Front piece: 21 in. x 21 in.
Back piece 21 in. wide x 26 in. long

For the 16 x 16 pillow Material/Burlap:
Front piece: Top fabric piece:  17 in. wide by  8 1/2  in. tall
Bottom burlap: 17 in. wide x 10 1/2 in tall
Back Burlap:  17 in. wide x 22 in. long

For this pillow, the front piece has to be pieced together first. Once that is done, follow the same steps as shown in the Envelope pillow tutorial above.

Sew the 2 pieces of fabric together.
Follow the directions for layering the back pieces on the back from  envelope pillow tutorial linked at the beginning of this post. Here is a picture of the back pieces being layered on top of the front piece.

Once you have it sewn all the way around, the last step is to stencil the saying on.  I cut my stencil on my Silhouette Cameo using some vinyl I had.  I cut my stencil roughly for the word Autumn: 6 in. long 1 1/2 in. tall and Blessings: 9 in. long. 2 in . tall

Placed some paper or cardboard inside the pillow, to stop any bleeding through, painted in the stencil to finish the pillow!!

For the 12 x 12  Burlap 31 pillow:
Front piece: 14 in. x 14 in.
Back piece: 14 in. wide  x 19 in. long

To Sew the pillow, Follow the same directions for an envelope pillow as shown in the tutorial above.  Once you have finished sewing it around the edges, turn it right sides out.  Slip a paper or cardboard inside to stop paint from bleeding through.

I cut my stencil on my Silhouette.  Roughly 9 in. wide by 6 in. tall

Painted it...

Finished!  I am already having so much fun with these pillows.  They add such charm!

With Much Love & Gratitude,
