I wanted to re-visit on the blog this party today. It was such a fun party to do!
Ava has a couple favorites... Polk-a-dots and Elephants. So we decided to combine the two! Another name for elephants is Pachyderms so why not make a play on words and thus the party Polk-A-Dots and Pachyderms was created!!!
We had sooo much fun at this party!! I found a lot of things that had to do with polk-a-dots and pachyderms and went to work. First of all the fun started with the invite! When I was working up the invite, I told Ryan, " I just finished the prototype for the invite!" I think it turned out pretty cute. If I can, I like to do the invite in a 3-D version, so this is what we ended up with...I ordered some cute polk-a-dot boxes and straws from www.Shopsweetlulu.com. I made a label with an elephant on it and typed on the flag, Happy Birthday Ava. Printed it on label paper and stuck it on the front of the box. Created another elephant circle and glued it to a straw, created and cut a personalized ticket in Silhouette Studio, created a little polk-a-dot you're invited flag in photoshop and wrapped it around a straw. Filled the popcorn boxes with candy circus peanuts, placed the flags with the fun items on them and we delivered them to some very excited guests!!!
Here's a closeup of the the ticket. I love to type on numbers that correspond to the date of the party.
Here's the whole gang of invites!
The day of the party arrived, we set up the Party table... I wanted to do a Hot Air Balloon theme. So this is how it turned out. I found some bigger balloons and nets at a party store and some polk-a-dot pots at Michaels to act as the hot air balloon baskets. I made some mini banners to accent with. I thought it would be cute to tie several balloons around the tummy of the Pachyderm for the middle centerpiece.
I put the mini banner on the front of the white Hot Air Balloon and on the cupcake bench and behind for accents...
I cut some pachyderms with the Silhouette and flags and glued them together for cupcake toppers. Eeek, they turned out so fun!
Also some polk-a-dot chocolates...
I made some labels for the ice cream cups and Decorated ice cream cones with sprinkles for ice cream...
All together...
Some pachyderm snacks and
Some Krispy treats dipped in chocolate and sprinkles...
I made some labels for the lemonade bottles and the straws that I also purchased at My Sweet lulu...
I made up some personalized thank you sacks on some cute elephant sacks I found at Michaels...
As the guests arrived, I made some flags to line the driveway...
A banner and sign to greet with...
I just finished another Birthday party! If you would like to see more about that you can see it here or by clicking on the photo below:
