Fall Food Frenzy... Caramel Apples

So I have to share with you some sneak peeks of a fun idea my friend Melissa and I did together.  We put together a Fall Dessert table and we are so excited with how it turned out!  We will each take turns sharing with you Recipes from this yummy table. Today I'm going to feature caramel apples drizzled with white chocolate!

When I think of doing Caramel Apples,  I think.. EEEEk!  Too crazy, too hard, too messy!  But guess what?  I was wrong!  Madi helped me do these and they were sooo simple!

I found some bags of caramel bits at the store in the section where Chocolate Chips are sold. I love these because there is no unwrapping of the caramel!   I bought 2 bags.  That ended up being enough caramel to cover about 6 apples.

Washed the apples with water and baking soda to remove the wax and help the caramel to stick.

I LOVED how this part turned out. I went in my back yard and gathered some sticks.  I cut them on an angle at the end that would be inserted into the apple.

Inserted them into the apples.  I thought this would be hard, but it really wasn't bad at all.

Now its time to melt the caramel.

This bowl has two packages in it, so I added about 4 tablespoons of water.  Put it in the Microwave for a minute at a time.  Did this for 3 minutes.  After each minute, took the caramel out and stirred it.

Dipped the Apples in the caramel and placed them on wax paper.  Next I melted some Nestle White Chocolate Chips.  I added around 5 - 6 tablespoons of water to this.  Melted in the microwave a minute at a time, taking out to stir.  Did this for about 2 minutes. Drizzled the white chocolate over the caramel on the apples...

Let them dry for a bit and ta-da!  Finished! Displayed them on some cake stands.  I love this log cake stand of Melissa's.  I thought the sticks in the apples went well with it!

Ok here's another peek of the dessert table... We have more yummy recipes we will share from it! Promise!
