Whoo Are You?

I'm excited to finally share with you the fun party we had last week!  It was themed with Owls.  We titled it Whoo Are You? it was also fun to have it be so close to Back to School with the whole Owl idea too!

The most exciting thing I've been wanting to share with you is what I made for the party table!

I kept thinking while I was preparing for this party, "What could I make for a display to go on the party table that would be in the theme with owls??"

A tree kept coming to mind, but I kept wondering, "How on earth would I make a tree?"  I thought long and hard about it and then I came up with this... (I hope you like it!)

I made a tree out of paper mache! I worked on it here and there for about a week.  I used some chicken wire, tin foil, paper towels, flour and water and elmer's glue!  As I was making this I realized I have never made any thing out of paper mache and this was actually pretty fun!  (The funny part was my family was watching me do this whole process.  They couldn't believe I actually got it to work and I that I really made a Tree!  They were pretty impressed!) Ha! Ha! And to be Honest, there were times  too that I really didn't know if what I had in my mind was going to work out! I just kept hoping! :)  I even remember when I was first bending the chicken wire to make the trunk and I told Ava what I was doing, she said: "Mom, that doesn't look like a tree!" Cute!  (Once it was finished she got the idea! :)

The next thing as I was making the tree I kept thinking, this tree totally needs an owl house to go in it!  So I decided to build a little owl house to go in the tree too!

I stayed up late one night building this fun little Owl house! I wanted it to kinda resemble Owl's house from Winnie the Pooh, so I made the trim crooked on purpose and  made things kinda mis-matched...

This is how the rest of the party table turned out...

I already shared with you the invites to the party.  If you want to read more about them you can see them here or click on the picture below...

I found these oh soo cute owl cookies on Etsy.  They are from TS cookies.   www.TSCookies.Etsy.com
She was great to work with and got me these cookies FAST!   To display the cookies, and to keep with the "woodsy" feel of the party,  I thought of putting them on top of and also leaning them up against a log!

I also made some cute owls on a tree branches for cupcake toppers...

I printed off the tiny little owls, but cut out the branches and leaves  on my Cameo and had my friend Kristen glue them for me! Thanks Kristen!

I also made some fun Oreo Pops that were a hoot too!

I kept trying to figure out how to display the oreo pops.  I came up with the idea to drill some holes in some chunks of logs I had.  I found a drill bit about the same size circumference of the lollipop sticks and made some holes to stick them in!

I made a cute chalkboard sign to welcome everyone... I put the stake on the back a little off center too!

I've already shared with you the cute lemonade mason jars and Chalkboard sign...  if you want to read more about it click here or on the picture below...

I made each of the girls an owl treat sack to take home with them... I cut them out on my Cameo and glued them together...

For a backdrop for the food table, I thought it would be fun to use the Chalkboard that I used for Mac's birthday.  I took some old frames I got at a thrift store.  Sanded them down and painted them bright colors to match the party.  I then thought it would be fun to write out in each of the frames... Whoo Are You?  to symbolize each of the girls as if their pictures were in the frames.
I hung the chalkboard backdrop and then hung each of the frames in front in a fun little fashion...

***This gave me an idea for a Party Suggestion***
Use this same idea for a backdrop for a Birthday Party Table.  You could either write it on the chalkboard with chalk in each of the frames or cut it in vinyl too... It could read something like this...

We had Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner, and played pin the heart on the Owl and some other fun games.  The Girls had such a great time!  This party was a lot of work, but I was so excited to put it on for the them!

In another post I'll share with you what I made for each of the girls to take home and how I displayed them at the party!
