Lemonade Anyone?

These items turned out to be some of my favorites from the Owl Party last week.   I had to share them with you!

I drilled and painted some colorful mason jar lids for some jars of Lemonade and made a chalkboard sign to stick in the Bucket!!!

This project wasn't too hard to do, it was just time consuming for me because I did around 44 lids and bands for all the guests coming to the party.  When I look at how colorful and fun they turned out, it was totally worth it!

I bought some mason jar lid seals.  I took each seal and used a scrap board for drilling.  Found the center of the lid and used a drill bit that was the same circumference size of the stripey straw that would be inserted through the hole.  Drilled a hole.  Took some pliers and peeled off the metal shavings.

Made certain there were no sharp parts left around the hole.  Painted the lids and the bands...

I took our mason jars that I use for canning, washed each of the jars.  Rinsed off and dried the painted lids and bands.  Filled the jars with lemonade, then put the lids and bands on and kept the jars in the fridge until the party.  As the party began, I put some cute stripey straws in place and our guests had some colorful bottles to sip lemonade from!

As for the chalkboard signs...  I just took some scrap board I had that was stained and old looking.  I think this board had a hole in it!  Even better!!  Took my jigsaw and made the sides jagged.  Cut a board to a rectangle shape to go on top.  Painted the rectangle board with Chalkboard paint.  When it was dry, I glued it to the  jagged-edged board I cut.  When that was dry, I took a stake that I had painted brown to match and screwed it to the back of the sign and There it was done!!!

I also offered some raspberry lemonade too!

The mason jar painted lid and band idea added sooo much to the party!  It was really cute and the party guests loved them!

If you get the chance to do something like this for an event, I highly encourage it!

I'm still working on some shots of the party to share!  Stay-tuned!

With Much Love & Gratitude,
