Re-Feature... Caramel Apples

Last year, I had this idea.  I thought it would be fun to put together a Fall Dessert table photo shoot with my friend Melissa. We then shared our recipes from the table.  I wanted to Re-feature the Caramel Apples with you today. They were so easy to do, are such a fun Fall Food item to make and with actual sticks used in the apples, they add so much to this time of year!

When I think of doing Caramel Apples,  I think.. EEEEk!  Too crazy, too hard, too messy!  But guess what?  I was wrong!  Madi helped me do these and they were sooo simple!

I found some bags of caramel bits at the store in the section where Chocolate Chips are sold. I love these because there is no unwrapping of the caramel!   I bought 2 bags.  That ended up being enough caramel to cover about 6 apples.

Washed the apples with water and baking soda to remove the wax and help the caramel to stick.

I LOVED how this part turned out. I went in my back yard and gathered some sticks.  I cut them on an angle at the end that would be inserted into the apple.

Inserted them into the apples.  I thought this would be hard, but it really wasn't bad at all.

Now its time to melt the caramel.

This bowl has two packages in it, so I added about 4 tablespoons of water.  Put it in the Microwave for a minute at a time.  Did this for 3 minutes.  After each minute, took the caramel out and stirred it.

Dipped the Apples in the caramel and placed them on wax paper.  Next I melted some Nestle White Chocolate Chips.  I added around 5 - 6 tablespoons of water to this.  Melted in the microwave a minute at a time, taking out to stir.  Did this for about 2 minutes. Drizzled the white chocolate over the caramel on the apples...

Let them dry for a bit and ta-da!  Finished! Displayed them on some cake stands.  I love this log cake stand of Melissa's.  I thought the sticks in the apples went well with it!

I'll share with you the Zuchinni Cake recipe too again.  It is the best ever, I promise!

I loved doing this dessert table with Meliss.  We had fun putting it together and our families LOVED eating all of the goodies when we were done!! Thanks Friend!

Have a Great Day!
With Much Love & Gratitude,

  1. That was fun! Can't believe that was a year ago. Still looks just as yummy, guess I need to make us some pumpkin bars now.
